Mark Abrams: April Member of the Month

In 2010, I was working on a video project for a local Professional Organizer based in Philadelphia.  She mentioned she was going to submit the produced spots to PhillyCAM for airing.  At that time PhillyCAM was located in a building next to the Painted Bride and was pending a move to the current location.  A year passed, I decided to visit the current PhillyCAM Studios and was immediately hooked… I renewed my membership on the spot and enrolled in crew member’s class.  The opportunities offered at PhillyCAM are second to none for individuals looking to brand an idea using visual communications. Over the past two years I have learned techniques in television productions that can be applied anywhere in the world.  I have worked with talented individuals on a variety of projects.  I am an original member of the 12-12 Crew, one of the production teams presently crewing and instructing at PhillyCAM.

I Still Do, the Marriage after the Wedding is a concept I created and produced.  This reality based talk show highlights newly married couples and the vendors that made their day a success. PhillyCAM has allowed me to find my niche in television production.  Although I have learned all of the positions necessary to work on a crew, I have found my niche as a Technical Director. I work on several in-house productions as TD, these productions include “Conversations Across Time” and “The Chef Trek Adventure Series” to name a few.   My expertise as a Web Architect combined with the knowledge and skill-sets learned at PhillyCAM have proved effective as well as efficient in outside projects.  Outside of PhillyCAM, I work with several organizations and individuals looking to enter the world of TV production.  I am often asked where I obtained my knowledge TV production… my answer is always the same…. PHILLYCAM.
