Philly Youth Radio Presents "Teen Sanctuaries"

This April 17th at 6:00 pm at PhillyCam, Philly Youth Radio presents "Teen  Sanctuaries," a showcase, discussion, and celebration of this season's stories and hard work. In this series, youth radio reporters investigated their own sanctuaries, looking at what gives their safe places meaning and
puts them at risk.

Philly Youth Radio provides high school students with the tools and training to create their own radio stories – and the opportunity to share them on a larger stage. Under the supervision of professional audio producers, youth radio apprentices engage in intensive radio production workshops to produce
stories about issues important to them and their communities. Participants gain experience in story pitching, interviewing, field recording, script-writing, digital editing and voicing. The hope is that these youth-produced radio stories will promote intercultural and intergenerational dialogue, as well as better understanding about young people’s lives and contributions in this city.

The premiere of Philly Youth Radio’s audio slideshows will be followed by a panel discussion with the youth radio reporters about their stories. Light refreshments will be served and a $5 donation is suggested, to help make another season of Philly Youth Radio possible. For more information, visit
