SAI - October Member of the Month

Member of the Month October 2015

Founded in 1998, Senior Artists Initiative has grown in both achievement and stature as an educational nonprofit serving the needs of senior artists.  SAI provides a full range of educational information in both video and audio formats to promote understanding of the purpose and process of organizing an artist's work and educate artists and others about estate issues concerning art.

SAI's annual Inventory and Oral History Project utilizes docents and interns from area museums and educational institutions to assist artists in inventorying their work, and then to interview the artists to explore their artistic development.  The interviews are video recorded and made available for viewing on the Internet at SAI’s website (www.seniorartists.org).

SAI also presents its videos on PhillyCam. The program, Conversations With An Artist, is aired on Fridays at 7PM. PhillyCam’s offer to present the videos was a good opportunity to reach a wider audience. The PhillyCam staff has been exceptionally helpful in assisting SAI in the process of getting the videos on the air. It also provides meeting space for SAI training sessions connected with the project. PhillyCam has helped SAI improve its reach, logistics, and video knowledge.
