2026 PhillyCAM Board of Directors Candidate, Charles Clark

Charles Clark

It seems I have always been interested in the welfare of others and wanted to get their stories told. I established relationships with reporters to pitch them people's stories. Then an interesting event occurred. I became the Public Information Officer for a Community Action Agency. I was able to increase the visibility and acceptance in the general community. I went on to a position of Regional Director for the National Citizens Participation Council organizing and holding conferences and training seminars related to HUD (Housing and Urban Development) citizens participation regulations. There a more life events like Secretary of the Board of  Directors for Rutgers Community Women's Center or Board member for PUSH (People United to Save Humanity).  It has lead me here to PhillyCAM, a platform for people to tell their own stories.

Charles’ Candidate Statement

During my relative short time in this life, I have experienced many opportunities. Life lessons I hope to use as a member of the Board. Some of them are; Public Information Officer for a Community Action Agency: Regional Director for a national nonprofit based in Washington D.C. organizing and conducting informational conferences and training seminars focused on the Citizens Participation section of the Community Block Grant Fund;  American Heart Assoc. Basic Life Support Instructor (CPR); Labor Union Representative in the hospitality industry; member of Media Mobilizing Project (Media Alliance Project) Leadership Committee. All of this was focused on community folk to have them rise and look over the fence they think they are confined behind. I am blessed to be a 78 year old Afro-American male who can adapt those experiences to the task at hand.
