June Member of the Month, Philadelphia Black Pride

Philadelphia Black Pride is a pioneering organization dedicated to transforming the social and living environments of LGBTQ+ people of color through advocacy, education, and celebration. Founded in 1999, it has become a cornerstone of Black queer life in Philadelphia, offering year-round programming and hosting one of the nation’s earliest and most impactful Black Pride events.

The following panels from our April 27 event Thrive: Black LGBTQ+ Empowerment Summit will air on PhillyCAM TV (Fios 29/30 or Xfinity 66/966) Tuesdays in June starting at 1:00 PM:

  • Living Legacy brings together Black trans women, pillars in the community, to share their lived experiences—celebrating their journeys, the lessons they’ve learned, and the wisdom they pass on to the next generation.
  • u masc? brings together a diverse group of influential voices in a panel that challenges stereotypes, highlights lived experiences, and fosters a space for dialogue and healing.
  • Legacy of Bebashi is a conversation exploring the enduring legacy of BEBASHI, one of the nation's first black-founded & black led HIV/AIDS service organizations. Together, they reflect on leadership, legacy, and allyship.

Through these efforts, Philadelphia Black Pride continues to foster resilience, joy, and empowerment within the Black LGBTQ+ community.
