November Member of the Month, Shanaya Wyche
I joined PhillyCAM in June 2023 as a way to practice and build upon my A/V production skills. I took a whole bunch of workshops, and I volunteered as crew on PhillyCAM programs whenever someone was needed. I feel that PhillyCAM is an excellent resource. I got a lot of value from their educational offerings. Also, everybody involved in the organization, both staff and members, is super supportive.
In the spring of 2024 I leveled up when I was accepted to PhillyCAM’s technical director fellowship. I learned how to work the Tricaster in the main studio, and I teamed up with producer Rachel K. Godfrey to direct her music/interview program City Rhythms.
Working on City Rhythms gave me the confidence to create a series of my own. I recently debuted Lemon TV. I am the producer, director, host, sound engineer, and editor of the show. It’s a lot of work, but I find it very rewarding.
I love Philadelphia’s vibrant independent music scene. It’s a great time to be a music lover in Philly. I go out to see live shows frequently, and I often walk away afterwards wishing I could bottle what I had just experienced and preserve it for the future. The simple mission of Lemon TV is to do just that. I want document live sets by some of the many amazing bands of this city and to have those performances look and sound really good.
Lemon TV airs Thursdays at 6 PM
