The Record's mission is to help build the power and capacity for Philadelphians to save and share their stories on their own terms. We're both a digital repository for media documenting Philly's movements for social justice, and we are a growing hub for grassroots archiving and preservation education. We've spent the last couple years building up our Preserving and Archiving Community Media (PACME) fellowship, which is a nine-month fellowship to support people in learning how to preserve and archive their own collections of media, in addition to connecting with more folks doing the work of stewarding the past for future generations.
We're proud to support and connect with stewards of memory and histories of oppressed people in this city and beyond, and we believe that through connecting with and caring for these records of the past together, we can transform how we belong each other, and shape our collective future towards justice and liberation.
