PPM Fest Returns this October 2021!
Our inaugural People Power Media Fest was so chock full of excellent content we are doing it again in October 2021. This year’s theme is “Community Media as Community Care.”
PPM Fest is month-long celebration of Philly community media, PhillyCAM members and their content taking place in October to align with our anniversaries and the national recognitions of Free Speech Week, Community Media Day, Media Literacy Week, and Indigenous People’s Day.
We’re calling for our members and extended community to participate in shaping the PPM Fest 2021 program line-up that explores and reflects this year’s theme of how community care shows up within community media. We’re circulating this form for you to jot your reactions, vague ideas, or even a detailed project outline for fest content.
We are looking for ideas for interactive workshops and discussions, special events such as a member recognition event, and special compilations from members and partners. Projects can be a mix of pre-recorded and live; radio, TV, online streams and premieres, and Zoom convenings or in-person events.
Remember, you can propose something that you lead or suggest a project or topic for PhillyCAM to consider facilitating. Either way, we will reach out again to follow-up on possible connections. Think of the form as a brainstorming space where anything messy is better than a perfect nothing.
We are hosting a virtual Watercooler Conversation on Monday, July 12th at 6:00 to talk about the theme of “Community Media as Community Care” and to workshop your ideas. Interested in attending please RSVP here.
Submit your idea to the form as soon as you can. You can submit more than one idea! Deadline to submit is Tuesday, July 20, 2021.
