Candace Worthen-September Member of the Month

I would like to say thank you to PhillyCam for selecting me as September’s Member of the Month. It is an honor and I am very thankful. As a Digital Storyteller with experience in producing content on multiple platforms including video production, photography, writing and blogging, I am very passionate about creating content that engages viewers.

I first fell in love with storytelling during my college years at Penn State University where I majored in Journalism and was aiming to be a newspaper reporter. Through several internships and work experiences including NBC10, National Constitution Center and MiND TV Independence Media, I’ve spread my wings and learned how to tell stories through images. I’ll never forget the first feeling of picking up a camera and pressing record, knowing that I can share something special and unique with other people. I also learned the importance of reporting, constructing and delivering a message when creating content.

I enjoy being a part of PhillyCAM and my experience as a member has been refreshing.  I met wonderful people and had the pleasure of talking with other members who are also passionate. I have volunteered and served as crew on multiple occasions and I am grateful for those experiences. I love being a part of a team and I am always willing to help in anyway that I can. Thank you to the staff for being encouraging and supportive. I believe PhillyCAM is a great resource for the community. It exposes people from all of walks of life to the visual arts and allows a creative outlet, which is extremely needed.
