City of Philadelphia Needs to Hear from You about Comcast

The City of Philadelphia will soon begin negotiations with Comcast for renewal of Comcast’s current 15-year cable television franchise, which expires in 2015.  The cable franchise makes it possible for PhillyCAM to provide all Philadelphia residents with access to media production training, equipment and content distribution on cable channels.

As part of the renewal process, the City wants to know your "cable television related needs and interests" and what needs related to cable communications you want to see in the future.   Non-cable subscribers are also encouraged to take the survey.

We encourage everyone, whether you are a PhillyCAM member, producer, viewer or general supporter of community media, to take 10 minutes to complete this survey.

The survey seeks comments on customer service satisfaction, sound and picture quality, access to Internet services and the importance of local public, education and government (PEG) channels.  Survey responses will provide important information regarding the wants and needs of Philadelphians in relationship to access to technology and desired outcomes of a new cable franchise with Comcast.

The survey will be open for comment until February 7, 2014.
