Winter 2011 Workshop Schedule

The following is a list of production training and orientation sessions PhillyCAM currently has scheduled for the beginning of 2011. This list will be updated as more workshop sessions and one-day special training activities are added.

 

In order to register for a workshop you must be an active PhillyCAM member and have attended a Member Orientation. Registration is on a first come, first served basis. Completion of a Workshop registration form and payment in full of the workshop fee is requirred to reserve your spot.

PhillyCAM Member Orientation (FREE)
This workshop is designed to introduce the mission, programs and opportunities PhillyCAM offers the community. Members interested in becoming certified to use PhillyCAM equipment must attend an orientation session before registering for a training workshop.

January 11 (Tuesday 6:30pm-8:30pm)
February 8 (Tuesday 6:30pm-8:30pm)
April 12 (Tuesday 6:30pm-8:30pm)

Intro to Digital Video Production ($75)
This course is designed to introduce members to the fundamentals of digital video production and the best practices for operating PhillyCAM’s remote production equipment. Upon satisfying all course certification requirements, members will have access to reserve and use PhillyCAM production equipment to shoot projects at PhillyCAM or on location.

Registration Period: December 15 – December 17, 2010
Course Period: January 12 – February 9, 2011 (Wednesdays 6:30pm-8:30pm)

Registration Period: February 16 – February 18
Course Period: March 16 – April 13 (Wednesdays 6:30pm-8:30pm)

Intro to Final Cut Pro ($75)
This introduction to non-linear editing is designed to help members understand basic editing terms, concepts and tools in Final Cut Pro 7. Workshop participants will be required to fulfill editing lab hours in addition to regular course hours. Lab time is an opportunity for participants to receive one-on-one technical support and practice time editing with tutorial exercises provided during the course. Upon satisfying all course requirements, members have access to reserve editing time and use PhillyCAM’s Final Cut Pro editing systems to create programming to air on the channel.

Registration Period: January 19 – January 21
Course Period: February 12 – March 5 (Saturdays 10:00am-noon)
