The Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists (PABJ) will host its seventh annual Monitoring Hollywood discussion, titled, Empire, Ferguson, The N-Word:Do #BlackLivesMatter to Hollywood, the lively discourse will focus on the growth of the;#BlackLivesMatter movement and the spotlight it places on police brutality in the Black community. Has Hollywood caught on to its meaning? In addition, Fox's Empire is the hottest show on television and will begin its second season Sept. 24. Is the show helping or hurting the image of Black Americans? Finally, the usage of the “N-word” has grown in popularity. Have we reached a point where it's permissible for the word to be used casually in film and the small screen?
