A collage of video art, interviews, and musical performances giving voice to everyday Philadelphians on their thoughts about the meaning of Independence.
"From Every Angle" is a new 30 minute show that explores a theme each month through interviews, performance, visual poetry and more.
This month, our focus is on Independence. We follow Mijuel Johnson from "The Black Journey: African-American History Walking Tour"; we watch Kelsi Bolden interpret African American spirituals using the contemporary vibraphone; we reflect on the history beneath Washington Square Park and talk with The Bul Bey live in-studio about what Independence means to him and the cultural community of Philadelphia; and we ask everyday Philadelphians what Independence Day and Juneteenth means to them.
