Hey there! I am Aileen, a West Chester University student who participated in a field placement these past few weeks at the PhillyCAM youth program for my Youth and Empowerment minor. Through my time here I have learned so much about creating digital media and youth empowerment. I learned so much about filming, such as setting up tripods and cameras in front of a green screen! The youth I was able to interact with were all incredibly kind! We all were able to joke around and have fun while also creating amazing projects. From talking to the youth members I learned how they are all so empowered and excited to share their projects, thoughts and ideas. They are all very thoughtful with their ideas and how they present them to others so that the listeners and viewers can get the full effect and truly see/hear what the youth member was wanting to share. The environment at PhillyCAM was truly magnificent. The community is so strong between the youth, it is full of acceptance, creativity and support. I will miss PhillyCAM and everyone I met, I hope to come back in the fall to visit!
