PhillyCAM is not just a TV station but a unique community center fostering connections and creativity. We don't just teach people to consume media; we empower them to become creators of high-quality independent and non-commercial content.

PhillyCAM is your one-stop shop for getting involved in your community and sharing your stories. We offer workshops and resources to help you create shows or videos. Whether you have a hidden talent, a story to tell, or a burning local issue you want to address, PhillyCAM empowers you to have your voice heard. 

Our platforms, including cable TV, FM radio, and even online spaces, become your megaphone to reach your neighbors, fellow Philadelphians, and a worldwide audience.

Members pay an annual membership fee and agree to abide by PhillyCAM's policies and procedures. Anyone who lives or works in Greater Philadelphia is welcome to join PhillyCAM.

Individual Membership

Annual Fee: $30 (Seniors 65+/Students $20)

Benefits Include:

• Gain media production skills and access to PhillyCAM equipment certification.
• Distribute your TV show on multiple platforms, reaching an audience of more than 1 million Philadelphia residents.
• Access TV Production studios, computer lab, and meeting spaces.
• Your TV show on PhillyCAM's Video On Demand.
• Attend special members' networking events, screenings, and mixers.
• A member profile on PhillyCAM's website.
• Stay updated on media-related opportunities through our monthly Members e-News.
• Participate at the leadership level as a board or committee member
• Vote in PhillyCAM's annual board of directors election.

Organizational Membership

Annual Fee (Sliding Scale: $40 - $275)

• $40   - Annual budget $0 - $50k
• $100 - Annual budget $51K - $250k
• $150 - Annual budget$251K - $500k
• $275 - Annual budget $501K and above

Organizational memberships are for non-profits, collectives, and community or educational groups that seek professional production, promotional, and video production training support from PhillyCAM.

For-profit organizations do not qualify for this membership.

Benefits include:
 All the benefits of Individual Membership -plus-

• Delegate five teammates as Associate Members who can also take classes and receive certifications for independent use of our equipment to submit programming on behalf of your organization. Each Associate Member must attend a PhillyCAM orientation to be eligible for class registration and to reserve equipment and studio spaces. Associates are encouraged to participate in all membership benefits.
• Reserve PhillyCAM's Community Room for programming-related activities and meetings.
• Consult with PhillyCAM staff consultants about your project. The consultation can be a single session or combined through multiple sessions.
• Submit your non-commercial information for PhillyCAM's electronic bulletin board. Everyone can view the information on PhillyCAM TV and while visiting our Community Media Center.
• Receive 2 voting ballots for PhillyCAM’s Annual Board Election.
• Hire PhillyCAM at reduced rates for any further production support needed throughout the year.

Non-profit organizations and community groups can pay for membership by invoice. They may be asked to submit proof of non-profit status or a history of working collectively.

Annual Complementary Production Services

PhillyCAM staff will produce and distribute your high-quality, non-commercial, community-oriented media projects.
Our community of contracted video and audio producers are ready to provide the technical support you need

• Request production support on one project per year for any of PhillyCAM's TV, Radio, and online platforms in a variety of formats, which can include but are not limited to PSAs, audio production, TV studio or field production, live streams, highlight videos,
  etc. - OR -
• Work with our education team to design project-based training for students that results in media for our platforms.

Youth Membership (No Fee)

We created PhillyCAM's Youth Program to support and embrace youth voices. Our students learn to access, analyze, create, and share digital media content with thoughtfulness and social responsibility.

PhillyCAM offers workshops, independent study, and opportunities for advanced training throughout the year.

Other Ways to Join

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, our facility is now open for appointments only on Tuesdays, and Saturdays. You can pay in-person by check or money order.
