Phased Return to Our Beloved PhillyCAM

PhillyCAM members, we’ve missed you! It’s hard to articulate how significantly things have changed in the 3 1/2 months since we closed our doors. Though we’ve been physically disconnected from one another, we have been so blown away by how you are raising your voices and sharing stories of this moment. You are demonstrating the critical importance of people powered media to keep our community informed and inspired.

We are happy to inform you that the staff is returning to the facility on a limited basis to make all the necessary preparations to begin a phased-in return to facility access for members. We would like to flip a switch and return to the way things were before the Coronavirus, but the continued risk of infection has required a significant redesign for how we operate and support you in your work. We value the health and safety of you and our extended community so we are proceeding cautiously and monitoring closely the City of Philadelphia’s Safer at Home Guidelines in implementing these procedures.

In mid-July, we will resume in person operations slowly and with intention. PhillyCAM will be open on a reduced schedule with limited access to the media lab, equipment check out and television studios on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. This access will be on an appointment-only basis. Since there are limited slots we need to prioritize access for members who have not been able to produce content remotely.

Access to the WPPM studio will also be limited and again prioritize members who have not been able to produce their radio program remotely.  WPPM staff will be in touch with radio producers directly about accessing the studio.

Join PhillyCAM staff for a Zoom Call on Wednesday, July 8 from 6:00 - 7:00 pm.  We'll talk in more detail about the new facility access procedures. It will also be a great way to reconnect with you all.
