Every moment of 2020 has had us reckoning with who we are, what we do, and why we do it. We have affirmed our belief that media should reflect and represent our communities and that we all have the right to critically analyze and participate in media creation, and with access to media tools, we can build power and envision an equitable world. The past 8 months has made the need to preserve spaces like PhillyCAM and better promote the role our members play in our community all the more urgent.
The video above, PhillyCAM From Home, is just a small peak at all the incredible media PhillyCAM staff and members were creating remotely within a week of the Stay at Home Order in March. We know that in 2021, we will still be living during a pandemic, facing an unprecedented economic downturn and coming to terms with the divisiveness in our nation.
We know there are many asks and many great causes in need. But if you are here on this page it's because you understand that the role of the storyteller has never been more important. The need to support the creation and distribution of local news and information by storytellers and reporters who are from our most affected communities can save lives. If you're willing to support us in any way this year it would mean the world to us. We are nothing without our incredible community and we hope to continue evolving to meet their needs.
Support PhillyCAM by making a contribution of any doallar amount to support and grow our education, youth media, community news and Spanish language programs.
Your donation to PhillyCAM is 100% tax-deductible
