Gralin Hughes Photography Exhibit

Gralin Hughes has an eye for the moment: The seconds when a passerby enters the frame unknowingly. The intimate space between a musician and his audience. The chance to catch a glimpse of clouds eclipsed by a skyscraper. With aesthetic appreciation of form and repetition, he captures the beauty in the ephemera of everyday life. A dilapidated house and modernist office complex carry equal beauty when seen through Gralin?s lens. He hopes to slow the viewer down, encourage a meditative pause and entice us to ponder the texture in sight. This collection of photos tells stories of moments that feel both familiar yet distinctly striking as essential Philadelphia.

A graduate of The Art Institute of Philadelphia, Gralin is predominantly a photographer but has wider interests including abstract painting and art. His work has appeared in several exhibitions and publications. Hughes has over five years of experience as a Final Cut Pro instructor.
