With nearly a decade of experience in Communications and Branding, she uses her experience to enable nonprofits and community organizing groups to develop and define their brand, connect with their base, and move issues forward.

Davelle Barnes

Mighty Writers

More than millennial musings, Davelle Barnes is a black/ queer/ woman/ veteran turned teaching artist. The 2017 UPENN CAMRA fellow is the author of the chapbook, "Ebony War Porn" and the creator of the short film "A Collage of Masculinity". When she isn't teaching or creating content she can be found scrolling and collecting memes.

Ernest Owens

Millennial Media Makers of Color (MMMOC)

Ernest Owens is an award-winning journalist who sparks conversation as the LGBTQ editor and news columnist for Philadelphia magazine. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, he studied communications and public service at the Annenberg School of Communication and has contributed to BET, The Grio, NBC News and other national outlets.

He is the founder of Millennial Media Maker of Color (MMMOC) and serves on the board of the Pen & Pencil Club and PhillyCAM.

Alexis Simmons is a creative entrepreneur with 10+ years of experience in the arts in Philadelphia. She is currently working on expanding her education about the technical aspects of media and is seeking to collaborate with like-minded individuals to make content that inspires! Sarah Seymour

Sarah Seymour is the Computer Instructor at Lee Cultural Center in West Philadelphia. Currently studying Behavioral Health at the Community College of Philadelphia, Sarah describes herself as a fun-loving positivity promoter and is dedicated to advocating for youth's rights. Her passions include art, nature and social justice.

Barrett Harvey

My name is Barrett Harvey, people find me to be an upbeat, self-motivated team player with excellent communication skills. For the past several years I have worked for Philadelphia Works, Inc. as lead Instructor, and Computer and Data Analysts in the technology industry.

My experience includes successfully training people in director-level positions of technology departments and developing web-based. This flexibility will help me in the classroom, where there are many different personalities and learning styles.

Sirron Carrector

Brewerytown Sharswood Community Civic Association

Having studied graduate work that incorporates a diversified blend of science, education, and communication, Sirron has been able to implement educational designs, and development skills toward the goal of increasing human performance and learning. Some of his skills include testing, implementation and maintenance of multiple software applications as they pertain to eLearning synchronously, and asynchronously.

He has earned a Master of Science in Instructional Technology (MSIT) and a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication, from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.

Andrea Mack

Andrea is a lifelong learner who loves to find creative ways to teach others new ideas and skills. She currently works at the Free Library of Philadelphia developing digital literacy curriculum and providing one-on-one digital literacy support to Philadelphians. Her previous experience includes working in the field of computer literacy education and information technology workforce development in Washington D.C

 

Helyx Chase

Facilitator

Helyx began producing, editing, and directing video projects at the age of 14.  Since then they have worked on documentaries, non-fiction and experimental narratives, multi-channel video installation, archival video presentations, and oral history video production. Their video art is built by, about, and for televisions and computers.

Helyx is fascinated by the ways in which we organize and process our information-saturated world. They are currently employed as the Technology Manager at the Media Mobilizing Project
