10/27 Interview Opp – PA Representative Jim Greenwood on Midterms & How to Protect Against Future Pandemics

With the midterm elections coming up, candidates who are elected to Congress will play a large role in shaping how we prepare for and respond to future pandemics and other biological threats. The White House is currently rolling out its national security strategy which involves targeting biological threats and is largely based on the Bipartisan Commission on Biodefense’s recommendations that argue if the United States acts now, the program could effectively end the era of pandemic threats by 2030. Rep. Jim Greenwood, who served as president of Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) president from 2005 – 2020, and represented Pennsylvania's Eighth Congressional District from 1993 to 2005, will be available for interviews Thursday 10/27 via Zoom and Phone as Bipartisan Commission on Biodefense commissioners, to talk about the White House’s new national security and how it will affect midterm elections.
